CYRILLIC ALPHABET

Becoming a member of the European Union Bulgaria returned to Europe. It returned not only with its economics, not only with its political system, not only with the transformation which made the transition possible but also with its culture and spirituality. One feature which distinguishes us from the rest of the countries is our alphabet. The global contribution of Bulgaria consists of creating the Cyrillic alphabet on its territory more than 1100 years ago ensured. Now the Cyrillic Alphabet or the Cyrillica triumphantly returns to Europe. There is something symbolically in the fact that returning to Europe we return together with our alphabet which becomes the third official alphabet of the European Union.
