BULGARIAN CULTURAL INSTITUTE LIBRARY
The Library was established in the beginning of 1988 when Bulgarian Cultural Institute began its activities in Moscow. Today it includes a rich collection of books in Bulgarian and Russian languages. The collection consists of pieces of literary works by individual authors, anthologies, literary collections, guides, albums, textbooks and catalogues of texts on different humanitarian subjects.
Most of the books are in Bulgarian language. These are mainly Bulgarian fiction from the Middle Ages, from the era of the national Renaissance, as well as from modern times presented by various genres : fiction/prose, poetry, dramaturgy, political journalism, travel notes, articles, feuilletons. The part of the Library including literary-critical researches and researches in the sphere of the science of literature was most carefully created during the years. The collection has been enriched also with the best pieces of work by foreign authors translated in Bulgarian. A whole range of literary works of Russian classical literature translated in Bulgarian are also included in the library collection.
While fulfilling the part of the Library including books in Russian the literary works by Bulgarian authors had the priority. Translated by famous Russian writers and poets they attract the interest not only of students and experts in Slavonic philology but also of everybody who appreciates literature and is eager to learn more about Bulgaria.
